Democracy Under Threat: #StopTheCoup Berlin

Pariser Platz (near the British Embassy and the Brandenburg Gate)

Come join us THIS Saturday 7th September at 12 noon.

Bring placards, banners, stickers, and – most importantly – yourselves!

You can find some sample posters and massively help by printing and distributing A4 posters and flyers about the demo in cafés, bars, organic supermarkets and anywhere else you might come across Brits and interested EU/non-EU citizens who are motivated to help us #StopTheCoup, prevent a damaging no-deal Brexit, and protect democracy.

If you have contacts at the press, please direct them to our press release (6 September, 2019).

We will also be collecting signatures for a letter to submit to British Ambassador to Germany Sir Sebastian Wood at the British Embassy.

Current confirmed speakers include:
12:15 MEP Sergey Lagodinsky (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen) on the importance of democracy
12:35 Berlin-based British political commentator Jon Worth on recent events
12:40 Representative from British in Germany on citizen rights

13:00 Academic Mareike Kleine (LSE / Freie Universität) on what happens when democracies go bad
13:05 Newlywed British-born German Rachel Marriott on the experience of Brits living in Germany in the face of Brexit
13:25 Brief open-mic session (2 mins per speaker)
13.35 Stand-up comedian Neil Numb with a lighter-hearted take on all this

There will also be musical interludes on the stage. Additional speakers and a brief open mic session are also planned.
